Frequently Asked
Questions

The most common things founders and businesses ask us before starting. If you don't see your question, just ask us directly.

How long does it take to build a mobile app?

+

A focused MVP with clearly defined features typically takes 8โ€“14 weeks from kickoff to App Store submission. More complex products with advanced features, multiple user roles, or sophisticated backend systems generally take 16โ€“24 weeks. Timeline depends heavily on scope clarity โ€” the more defined your requirements, the more accurate our estimate. We share a full sprint-by-sprint timeline before any work begins.

What does the build process look like from my side?

+

You're involved at every key milestone without being in the weeds. Expect a kickoff call, design reviews after each phase, bi-weekly sprint demos with a working build, and a final review before submission. We use Slack for async communication and share a live project tracker so you always know where things stand. Most clients spend 2โ€“4 hours per week on reviews and feedback.

Why do you specialize in React Native?

+

React Native is our deliberate choice, not our limitation. It lets us build truly native-performing iOS and Android apps from a single codebase โ€” cutting your development cost by 30โ€“50% compared to building two separate native apps. It's battle-tested at scale (Facebook, Shopify, Discord, Airbnb) and has a massive ecosystem. When native modules are genuinely needed, we use them โ€” but 95% of mobile products don't require anything React Native can't handle beautifully.

What about backend and hosting?

+

We build or integrate whatever backend your app needs โ€” Node.js, Python/Django, Firebase, or Supabase are our most common choices. Hosting is typically on AWS, Google Cloud, or DigitalOcean depending on your scale requirements and budget. We set up and hand over the infrastructure fully configured under your accounts so you own it completely from day one. We're not locked to any specific stack โ€” we pick what's right for your product.

Do you handle UI/UX design, or do I need to bring designs?

+

We handle everything in-house. UI/UX design is included in all our engagements โ€” we don't just implement screens, we design them from scratch. This includes user research, wireframes, full Figma design files, a complete design system, and developer-ready specs. If you already have designs or a brand identity, we work with what you have and extend it properly for mobile.

Can you redesign or rebuild an existing app?

+

Absolutely. We do redesigns and rebuilds regularly โ€” often for founders who outgrew their first-gen app or acquired a poorly-built product. We start with an audit of your existing app (design, architecture, performance) and then scope the most efficient path to improvement. Sometimes that's a full rebuild; sometimes targeted refactoring and a design overhaul is enough and costs far less.

Do you help with App Store and Google Play submission?

+

Yes โ€” full submission is included. We prepare all store metadata, screenshots, preview videos, privacy policy links, and handle the entire review process including responding to any reviewer feedback. Apple's App Store review can take 1โ€“3 days; Google Play is typically 24โ€“48 hours. We've never had a clean app permanently rejected โ€” we know the guidelines and build accordingly.

What happens after the app launches?

+

All projects include a 30-day post-launch support window for bug fixes. Beyond that, we offer optional maintenance retainers from a few hours per month (for OS compatibility patches and minor fixes) to full monthly feature sprints. We recommend at minimum a small retainer โ€” iOS and Android both release multiple updates per year that may require code changes. We'll be honest with you about what level of ongoing support your specific app needs.

Who owns the code and designs at the end?

+

You do. Upon final payment, all intellectual property transfers to you fully โ€” source code, design files, documentation, and all project assets. We push the code to your GitHub repository, hand over the Figma file, and walk you through everything. There are no license fees, no ongoing payments to us to keep the app running, and no lock-in of any kind. Your app is yours completely.
